Overview
The goal of the Green Fuel Cell Project (GFC) is to build a hydrogen fuel cell system that utilizes local resources and electrochemical reactions to produce an electrical/power source.
Objectives of the GFC include:
- Using materials that are greener and more cost-efficient than materials used in traditional combustion-based engines
- Using recycled materials to build the cell
- Employing the process of the hydrolysis of water for hydrogen gas
- Build a system that can be used in conjunction with other power sources that UCSD uses, connecting it to the micro-grid or be used in smaller-scale applications, such as powering a cell phone
